Humanities Concert

Humanities Concert held at Heungbokjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace on an autumn day

“Hanbok lifestyle,” designated as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, is a living history imbued traditions and in various forms.

It’s a lifestyle that represents Korean people’s identity and values.

Not only has Hanbok been preserved through illustrated records of our ancestors, it is also depicted and described meticulously in modern films, serving as a medium portraying the everyday life and the ideal.

Whether in Jinyeon Uigwe and dobyeong (painted folding screens) illustrating royal court banquets, or in historical dramas set in different eras, Hanbok depicts themes, characters, and events in fresh and bold ways.

In the fall of 2024, join us at Gyeongbokgung Palace as we explore Hanboks in various forms and shapes that may seem worlds apart.
