With Korea's old palaces as the background, we planned ‘Genre painting for All’ with the hope that anyone could easily create characters with fun in the genre painting and communicate through the stories contained within it.

Thanks to the enjoyable participation of many people last year, we were able to hold the third ‘Genre painting for All’ this year!

Just as Kim Hong-do of the Joseon Dynasty captured a variety of human figures in his genre paintings, you too can create paintings of small things in your daily life.

This ’Genre painting for All’, in fact, is an invitation to the K-Royal Culture Festival!

We invite you to the ‘K-Royal Culture Festival’, a festival taking place against the backdrop of beautiful palaces!

2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival

Date: October 13 (Fri) – October 18 (Wed)

Locations: Four major palaces (Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace)

This meaningful year marks the 40th anniversary* of Changgyeonggung Palace regaining its name. Please, participate in the Fall K-Royal Culture Festival and create special memories that can only be felt at the palaces.

At this Fall K-Royal Culture Festival, you can experience Genre painting for All with Goongee-doongee.

*Changgyeonggung Palace’s name was downgraded to ‘Changgyeongwon’ during the Japanese colonial period, and it was used as an entertainment facility with a zoo and botanical garden, before regaining its name in 1983.
